Girls with Attitude! Unlimited 2012

In2009 I began talking about having a "Grandma's House".  "What is a Grandma's House?"

Close your eyes and remember what it was like as a child when you went to visit grandma. Can you smell the cookies in the oven? Taste that yummy hot meal? Do you remember crawling into the nice clean sheets? Taking a bath on a chilly day and being wrapped in a big fluffy towel? Saying your prayers at bedtime?

Now I do realize that was not the memory that everyone has of grandma's house, but it should be.

There are girls of all ages who have been left, sometimes on the streets to fend for themselves, and they have survived by any means possible. Those are the girls who need a grandma's house. Remember how your grandma loved you no matter what?

Early in 2011 I had a lifelong friend call me and ask if she bought the house she grew up in would I put girls in it, of course my answer was yes, and Hazel's House of Hope was born.

Athough started as a home to reach women from the streets, we quickly became the lifeblood to the entire neighborhood.   We began holding weekly meetings for adults, teens & children.  We offer services such as free clothing, free food, mentoring, assistance with resumes, Bible studies, even after school tutoring, all in a place where they will not be judged. This house is about meeting the needs to the "least of these".

We now have homes located on the southside of Columbus, Hilltop and the Miller/Kelton area.

So....how can you help?   Well, are you ready to take a trip to Hazel's House of Hope?
